Intercessions (at the 2004 Kirchweihfest in Sindelfingen)
Lord, we call to you - our confidence and strength!

  • You were the "confidence and strength" of those first German pioneers, our ancestors, who have moved out to find a new home.
  • You were "confidence and strength" in the ups and downs of world history until 1944, in the centuries of history of the Danube Swabian settlements - you have protected and preserved and guided our fathers and mothers.
  • You were "confidence and strength" in those who were displaced, forced to do labor, or starved into hunger camps, the battered and battered, the desperate and tormented, the men in the detention camps, and the war crimes.
  • You were confident among the elderly and the sick, among the children and women and men in Rudolfsgnad and the other camps.
  • You were "confidence and strength" in those who sneaked out of the camp at night to get a bit of bread or a handful of corn for their loved ones. You were the help of those who were at war and had to experience bad things.
  • You have been "confident and strong" refugees with us on the way to the homeland of our ancestors, in the search for work and bread and in building a new existence.
  • You have been "confident and strong" among the ancients and have comforted them in mourning for their old home, giving children and grandchildren and also wealth.
  • You are our "confidence and strength" today in reconciling peoples - on the way to peace. Even in the plight of our people in the face of the five million unemployed, the questions about the care of the elderly and the sick, he education of children and adolescents ..
  • You, O Lord, are our confidence and strength even in the storm of our hearts, in all unrest and all questions - even when dark shadows are coming over us - also the shadows of illness and death.
  • You, O Lord, be and remain our "confidence and strength" until you receive us, into the eternal home. Amen

Yours Pfarrer Jakob Stehle
